Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin meets members of the Russian State Duma Committee for Labour, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs

On November 1, at his meeting at Tatarstan Government House with members of the Russian State Duma Committee for Labour, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, Prime Minister of the republic Alexey Pesoshin briefed about main social and economic results Tatarstan has achieved recently.

In particular, he noted that the consumer price index is expected to remain at the level of 103 per cent by the end of the year and that the increase in food prices is slowing down.

Pesoshin continued that this year Tatarstan is implementing 35 regional socially significant programmes, with their funding amounting to more than 16 billion roubles.

The prime minister emphasized that improving the quality and availability of the services provided to citizens and living standards is one of the main tasks.

In their turn, the members of the Russian State Duma Committee thanked Pesoshin for the eventful working programme during their stay in Kazan.

In particular, people’s deputies visited the veterans’ hospital, where they got acquainted with rehabilitation therapy for veterans and Russian medical development.

They also visited the International College of Service Industry, where the elderly could learn a new trade and get supplementary education.

On November 2, Kazan will host a meeting of the State Duma Committee for Labour, Social Policy and Veterans’ Affairs, at which issues of implementing the federal Strategy to serve the interests of the older generation, as well as Tatarstan's experience in introducing active longevity programmes will be discussed.
