The first in the Volga Region steel service center MMK-Coskunoz Alabuga opened in Tatarstan
The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the opening ceremony of the first in the Volga Region steel service center MMK-Coskunoz Alabuga in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone today.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Boris Dubrovsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works Viktor Rashnikov, Director General of Coskunoz Holding A.S. Ahmet Erdem Acay, Director General of PJSC Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works Pavel Shilyaev, Director General of Special Economic Zone of Industrial-Production Type "Alabuga" JSC Timur Shagivaleev, President of the joint venture Ford Sollers Adil Shirinov, Minister of Economy of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev and others.
In his welcoming speech, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the project was implemented in the shortest possible time. "Most importantly, we have mastered a new form of work, when the Alabuga Special Zone prepares a site for the development of the resident's business. It is the 24th plant, which will start operating in the SEZ "Alabuga". At least two more plants will be opened this year. I think it is a good example of how we should work. And most importantly, the opening of the steel service center MMK-Coskunoz Alabuga provides for localization of production of the products necessary for our automotive industry", - he noted.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works produces high quality products deserving active promotion on the market of Tatarstan. "I am sure that it is only the beginning of our close cooperation both with the Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works and the Chelyabinsk Region. It is an example of how based on the horizontal connections we really advance the economy of our country", - the President of Tatarstan said.
The plant for production of steel blanks for stamping car body parts is the first joint project of the Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works and the existing resident of SEZ "Alabuga" Coskunoz Alabuga in the special economic zone. The consumer of the products will be the Coskunoz Alabuga stamping plant located next to the plant.
One more feature of the project is that the building of the production facility was constructed by the managing company of the SEZ "Alabuga". The building, erected for the investor's needs, will be leased to him.
The projected plant capacity is not less than 60 thousand tons of steel blanks and sheets per year. The total amount of investment is over RUR 1 billion, including RUR 670 million invested by SEZ "Alabuga", "Tatar-inform" information agency reported.
