Development of single-industry towns in Tatarstan and new approaches to cooperation. Naberezhnye Chelny will host a district scale event.

Training program, seminars, discussions, workshop and business games. An extensive program is prepared for the participants of the Academy for the Development of Single-Industry Towns. It was announced today at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan by the Deputy Minister of Economy of Tatarstan Natalia Tarkaeva. On June 21, the Fund for the Development of Single-Industry Towns will held a seminar-conference in Naberezhnye Chelny in the framework of a new federal educational project "Academy for the Development of Single-Industry Towns". The project is inititated upon the request of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia for teams out of 319 single-industry municipalities in Russia. About 200 representatives of 79 single-industry municipalities from 13 federal subjects of the Russian Federation, included into the Volga Federal District, will gather at the educational event. "Chelny has the necessary infrastructure to organize a district scale large event and hold it at a high level, - Tarkaeva noted. - In the forum we will run not only a series of educational events, but also several discussions, familiarize delegates from the Volga Federal District with the progress of programs aimed at developing single-industry towns", - she reported. In addition, it is planned to introduce the projects implemented together with the Fund for the Development of Single-Industry Towns, including the 6th stage of the Kama Industrial Park "Master", which is the largest industrial park not only in the Russian Federation, but in Europe, Special Economic Zone "Alabuga" and the projects implemented in the framework of the five step urban environment improvement in Yelabuga.

The following seminars will be held as part of the event:

- "Digital urban environment: how to evaluate its development in your town and how online services help to solve real problems of small towns?"

- "Social projects in single-industry towns: experience in using and attracting extra-budgetary funs"

- "We make the city. How to transform public urban spaces by available means" 

One-day seminar-conference series of the First "Academy for the Development of Single-Industry Towns" started on May 21 in Ekaterinburg, which was attended by over 140 participants from 37 single-industry towns of Urals. On June 14, the "Academy for the Development of Single-Industry Towns" was held in Novosibirsk: the even brought together about 150 representatives of 66 single-industry towns in 10 federal subjects of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District. Further, events for various federal districts will be held in Khabarovsk and Moscow.

The seminars and conferences will be attended by team managing development projects of all 319 single-industry towns, as well as representatives of local authorities. Participants will be provided an insight on project management, improvement of urban environment quality and tools for promoting territories. Entrepreneurs will learn about federal measures to support small and medium-sized enterprises in single-industry towns.
