The President of RF has expanded the range of medium-sized business subjects

The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, signed the Federal Law "On the amendment of the Articles 4 and 41 of the Federal Law "On the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Russian Federation", prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Federal Tax Service.

The Federal Law is focused to clarify the criteria for the categorization of economic societies, economic partnerships to small and medium-sized enterprises. In particular, the RF government is authorized to set a limit value for the average number of employees for the preceding calendar year over the limit value, established by the law for economic societies, economic partnershipsers, operating in the light industry.

In addition, the rules for the establishment of a single register of small and medium-sized business entities are being clarified.

The Federal Law was adopted by the State Duma on July 12, 2017 and was approved by the Federation Council on July 19, 2017.

The Federal Law No. 209-FZ "On the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Russian Federation" has established the limit values of indcators, which are used to categorize the economic entities as the subjects of SME. According to the income from the business activity for the preceding calendar year: up to 120 million RUB - micro enterprises, up to 800 million RUB - small enterprises, up to 2 billion RUB - medium-sized enterprises. by the size of the average number of employees for the preceding calendar year: up to 15 persons -micro-enterprises, up to 100 persons -small enterprises, up to 250 people - medium-sized enterprises.
