24 September 2020, Thursday

Over the weekend, the II Forum for self-employed residents of the republic was held in the Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest. The event gathered 102 participants at its site. Its two-day program includes a business lecture hall, a self-employed product fair, master classes and a festive concert.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Mayor's Office of Kazan, the Entrepreneurship Support Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan. The event was held within the framework of the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives”.

The festival was opened by Rustem Sibgatullin, First Deputy Minister of Economy - Director of the Department for Entrepreneurship and Competition Development.

“The self-employed are a category of people with whom their skills are inextricably linked: whether they do something with their own hands or work in the field of mental labor. Today they can make money with their skills. Last year, the state introduced a special tax regime – “Tax on professional income”, thanks to which they can come out of the shadow and legalize their activities. There are already more than 79 thousand such citizens in the republic, and the figure itself suggests that the state has chosen the right path”, R. Sibgatullin stressed.

Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of Kazan Ildar Shakirov also took part in the opening ceremony. He announced the start of the third stage of grant support for the self-employed. Another 50 Kazan entrepreneurs will be able to receive 100 thousand rubles. For these purposes, 5 million rubles have been allocated from the city budget. Applications for participation in the competition are accepted until October 15.

The forum became an opportunity for self-employed residents of the republic not only to tell about their products, but also to find new customers. For the self-employed, trading places were provided free of charge, where they were able to present and sell products of their own production - toys, clothing, food, jewelry and much more. For two days of the event, the participants' revenue amounted to about 900 thousand rubles.

The business program of the event was held at the Ecocenter “Dom”. On the first day, specialists, experts and representatives of government authorities raised issues of state support for the self-employed, the work of citizens who have chosen a special tax regime on electronic trading platforms, and their interaction with credit institutions. Another topic for discussion was the regulatory and legal restrictions faced by self-employed Tatarstan citizens during their activities and their interaction with control and supervisory authorities.

Today more than 79 thousand Tatarstan citizens are registered as self-employed. In addition, another 8.6 thousand nonresident citizens registered in other constituent entities of the country chose the republic as a region to conduct their activities. During the pandemic and the self-isolation regime caused by it, there were more people wishing to conduct their business in the legal field. Since the beginning of the year, more than 21 thousand self-employed have been registered in the Republic of Tatarstan.

Now Tatarstan self-employed citizens can get information and consulting support through the “My business” center and from the specialists of the Internet resource “Verified Business”. You can get advice on the mechanism for paying insurance premiums, using the application and issuing checks for transactions, concluding an agreement with legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. In addition, seminars on doing business are held for self-employed residents of the republic, they have access to the republican exchange platform.

On June 8, 2020, a law was adopted at the federal level that provides self-employed people with access to state support measures and, in fact, equates them to entrepreneurs. Among them - the expansion of preferential financial instruments, an increase in training programs, provision of marketing support.

These support measures will be available after the adoption of the appropriate changes to federal regulations in September-October this year. Implementation of the law and expanding access to support measures will create favorable conditions for the involvement of citizens in the legal business environment.
