In Tatarstan, 35 million rubles were allocated for the competition for NPOs

31 August 2021, Tuesday

A competition has been announced in Tatarstan for non-profit organizations implementing socially significant projects. The total amount of grants is 35 million rubles. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic Oleg Pelevin at a press conference in the "Tatar-inform" news agency. The event was also attended by Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Rimma Ratnikova, Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan Zilya Valeeva and others.

Applications will be accepted from 1 to 30 September inclusive. The competition is held in two directions: the development of civil society institutions and civil initiatives, the creation of conditions for improving the quality of life of citizens. The requirements for holding the competition are posted on the website of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan.  Each non-profit organization can submit only one application. According to the terms of the competition, the project implementation period should not exceed 12 months. Applications for participation in the competition can be submitted on the website грантытатарстана.рф.

"The amount of grants is still difficult to establish. Everything will depend on the projects themselves, how much money an NPO needs to implement a particular project," Oleg Pelevin said.

One of the winners of the last competition is the Shelter help point for the needy. The deputy head of the project Insaf Valeev said that they won a grant in the amount of 230 thousand rubles. With these funds, the NPO was able to organize additional charity dinners for those in need.

"It is important for us that everyone, even in remote areas of the republic, knows that there is support for NPOs, unfortunately, not all municipalities are actively sending applications yet. And I would like to see more projects that benefit society. It is very important to create an NPO in each particular community to solve social problems," said Rimma Ratnikova.

One of the main innovations this year is that for the first time an application for the competition can be submitted in electronic format, this facilitates the time-consuming process.

"When documents are submitted on paper, there are inaccuracies, they are returned, problems arise, now all this is being solved, everything is transparent and open, it is now easy and simple to submit an application, this is a very significant innovation. We are waiting for good, high-quality projects for the development of civil society institutions," said Zilya Valeeva, Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan.

We remind that another competition is being held in Tatarstan for NPOs – for grants from the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan for non-profit organizations involved in the implementation of socially significant projects. The grant fund of the competition is 40 million rubles. Applications are accepted until September 10, 2021 inclusive.

As Oleg Pelevin noted, NPOs can apply for both competitions, but with different projects. All submitted projects will be examined.
