V All-Russian Scientific Practical Conference on Unfair Competition was held in Kazan

V All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference on Unfair Competition on topic “Unfair Competition in the Digital Era” was held at the Training and Methodological Center of the Federal Antimonopoly Service. The event was attended by specialists from the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan.

First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Nigmatullin addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He noted that Tatarstan took the first place in Russia in competition for two years in a row.

The conference discussed and considered practices and approaches in resolving disputes related to unfair competition, in particular: on the Internet, in procurement, in advertising and supplying goods and services (“parallel imports”), in acquiring and using intellectual property rights and also the issues of forecasting the institute of protection against unfair competition in the framework of introduction of the fifth antimonopoly package.

The event was held to highlight possible and already identified problems of protection from unfair competition in the context of digital technology introduction and distribution to the economy, politics and other areas of society, as well as discussion of proposals being developed to improve this institution of protection.
